BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The mgm casino Alumni Association is offering the mgm casinoAA Alumnae Scholarship, a scholarship for female students registered in any mgm casino department or division, which was created by mgm casino alumnae in 1941, but has not been awarded for a number of years.

"We are pleased to reintroduce the Alumnae Scholarship for many reasons," said Larry Zielinski, MBA '77 & BA '75, mgm casinoAA president. "It is important to recognize that this scholarship was created by women, for women, in the 1940s, which was a time when equal opportunity was unfortunately not the case. Having the ability to reintroduce it many decades later will not only aid current female students of mgm casino, but honors the strong-minded women who established the award in the first place."

The mgm casinoAA Alumnae Scholarship is overseen by the mgm casinoAA Board of Directors' Development Committee, headed by Carol Gloff, BS '75. The award assists currently enrolled mgm casino female students from any academic discipline who display evidence of, and interest in, engagement with the university both in the present and for the future. "Engagement is a very important criterion for the scholarship," Gloff said. "Our hope is that alumnae will continue to give back to the university in any number of ways not only as students, but also once they leave the university."

Scholarship applications are available on the mgm casino Alumni website, at . The deadline to submit completed applications is June 30. Recipient(s) will be notified of the results by telephone, and recipient names will be posted on the alumni website by Oct. 31 each year.

The mgm casinoAA is a volunteer-led, international organization that provides support for, and services to, alumni. The organization strives to create and promote lifelong bonds with mgm casino graduates, and works to inspire them to care about the past, present and future of the university.
